Living on Purpose…
Our purpose here at NorthPointe is to lead people to Jesus and membership in his family, teach them to worship the Lord and magnify His Name, develop them to Christlike maturity, and equip them for ministry in the church and a mission in the world.
Find out how you can live on purpose.
You Were Planned for God’s Pleasure: Bring Pleasure to God Through Worship
You are alive today because God chose you to be here. You exist for his benefit, His glory, His purpose, and His delight. Bring enjoyment to God, living for His pleasure, is the first purpose of your life.
We are able to bring pleasure to God through worship. Worship is far more than music – anything you do that brings glory to God is an act of worship. Every activity can be transformed into an act of worship when you do it for the praise, glory, and pleasure of God.
“You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created” (Revelation 4:11 NLT).
You Were Formed for God’s Family: A Place For You To Belong
Because God is love, He treasures relationships. At NorthPointe, we want to welcome you into our church family and get to know you better.
Class 101 is our basic introduction to NorthPointe and is designed to explain what we believe and what we’re all about. Whether you’re looking to take your first step in a relationship with Jesus Christ, get baptized, or get plugged into a small group, our team is here to offer you guidance and support.
“God’s unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure” (Ephesians 1:5 NLT).
You Were Created To Become Like Christ: Spiritual Maturity
Spiritual growth is not so much about “doing” as it is about “becoming” – becoming more like Christ. It’s a life-long adventure that takes patience, commitment, and intentional focus. It’s not what we do along the way that is most important. What really matters is who we are becoming in the process. Ultimately, the Christian life is about building an intimate relationship with Jesus as the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out, and loving others the way Jesus loves us.
We invite you to explore the various opportunities we offer to help you take your next steps of spiritual growth.
“As the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more” (2 Corinthians 3:18b NLT).
You Were Shaped For Serving God: Serving Others in Jesus’s Name
When we become a Christian, God gives us salvation and the hope of eternity in heaven. He also gives us purpose and significance in our lives. He has given each of us the opportunity to serve others and make a real difference in our community. When you serve others in Jesus’ name, you’re ministering. God didn’t design ministry for just a few people. At NorthPointe, we believe that every member of our church is a minister.
Pastor Nick teaches that we all are shaped by God with individual gifts and talents that are to be used to support the Body of Christ. The Ministry Team has designed several tools to help guide you in discovering how your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences (SHAPE) in life can be used by God to mold you for service.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
You Were Made For A Mission: Sharing The Love of God
You were made for a mission. God is at work in the world, and he wants you to join him. God wants you to share His love where you are. As a student, mother, teacher, salesman, manager, or whatever you do, God wants you to reach out to the people in your life. That might mean inviting a friend to church or showing love to those in need around you.
God invites you to participate in the greatest, largest, most diverse, and most significant cause in history – his kingdom. The opportunities for normal, everyday Christians to become involved in short-term international missions are now limitless. Every corner of the world is available to you. You were saved to serve and made to go out and spread the Good News.
NorthPointe is here to help you discover great ways that you can share your faith both locally and globally.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15)
Experiencing Life Together (Small Groups)
Life is not meant to be lived alone. God intends for us to experience life together, and that’s why at NorthPointe, we encourage you to get into a small group.
A small group is a weekly gathering of three or more people who meet in a home, workplace, or online. They hang out, study the Word, and pray together.
Groups come in all shapes and sizes – married couples, singles, men’s, women’s, kids, no kids, workplace, under 20, over 40 – the list goes on! No matter where you are in life, there’s a group for you.
